Dating back to the 1920s, the market is held every Monday, 9am-4pm on the Market Place and Granby Road. It offers a variety of goods, including clothing, bed linens, shoes, fresh produce, flowers, jewellery, wool, and hot food stands. This market tradition in Bakewell has its roots in the 1300s when Henry III granted William Gernon, Lord of Bakewell, the right to hold a fifteen-day fair in May.
